I researched the course content and utilized the UN repository to source accurate and up-to-date information on climate change. Through the use of rapid prototyping, I developed an initial prototype, refining and improving it based on feedback. The final product was then developed on Rise 360.
The Problem
This eLearning course was designed for government officials and policymakers to deepen their understanding of the complex challenges of climate change and its impact across various sectors of society. As they navigated the course, they were able to enhance their knowledge, which allowed them to develop and implement effective policies and strategies to address climate issues.
Prior to taking the course, many officials lacked the latest insights on climate action and sustainable practices, leaving them at a disadvantage in terms of creating impactful change. By participating in the course, they stayed informed about international best practices and emerging trends in climate action, gaining the necessary skills to drive meaningful change and promote sustainable development in their regions.
The Solution
The eLearning course was structured into eight comprehensive modules, each further divided into lessons based on the desired learning outcomes. To keep learners engaged and avoid monotony, I presented information using various interactive elements.
I broke down complex concepts into bite-sized information chunks, managing cognitive load and ensuring smooth transitions from short-term to long-term memory. To ensure deep learning, I embedded authentic assessments throughout the course, both during the modules and at the end of each module.
I built short assessment and feedback loops that offered learners opportunities to practice newly acquired knowledge and receive prompt feedback on their progress. The course featured multiple interactions to maintain learner engagement and included practice activities to reinforce concepts at the lesson level.
My Process
I employed rapid prototyping to develop this course efficiently and effectively. By creating early versions of the course content and structure, I was able to test and refine each element quickly. This iterative process allowed me to gather feedback from stakeholders and adjust the course design based on their input.
Through rapid prototyping, I ensured that the final eLearning course was polished and aligned with the learning objectives. This approach enabled me to deliver a high-quality, learner-centric course that met the needs of government officials and policymakers seeking to deepen their understanding of climate change.
Full Development
The final development of the course was completed on Rise 360, a cutting-edge authoring tool that enabled me to create a responsive and interactive eLearning experience. This platform allowed me to seamlessly integrate multimedia elements such as videos, images, and quizzes to enhance engagement and facilitate learning.
Rise 360's user-friendly interface also ensured that the course was accessible on various devices, providing a consistent learning experience for participants whether they accessed the course on a desktop or mobile device.
